Laura L. Drumb Events Coming Up...
Below is a list of current events on my schedule, with more being added quite often. Please come hear me speak and pick up an autographed copy of the novels which weave history with fiction in exciting tales of how God’s Word impacted folks long ago right here in our great state, long before there was an Oklahoma!
Please contact Laura Drumb if you need further details or confirmation of any of them.
Please Note:
If you would like to host a book signing, please contact me as I am seeking to schedule at least a couple more in both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City areas. These can be held in homes, churches, book stores, museums, community centers – wherever there is an interest in history and our state.
In addition, I am looking for opportunities to speak on the history and research behind my books and the time period in which they are set. These might be to women’s ministries, churches, writers clubs, community/senior centers, historical and Native American museums, retirement facilities, book stores, libraries, and civic organizations, to name a few of the possibilities. In 2023, I spoke to the Women’s Chamber of Commerce in Sand Springs; was a vendor at several craft fairs in Kiefer, Sapulpa, and Tulsa; addressed a group called Chronologically Gifted; and spoke at a Sapulpa Library event for local authors, all of which were quite interesting! A few years ago I had the privilege to address a large group at the Women’s Club at Lake Kiowa (TX) and speak at the St. Augustin’s Book Fair in Tulsa, as well as be a resource speaker in several classes at a homeschool coop academy. Through all of these, I have managed to garner new readers which opened up even more chances to share my book, and I hope to repeat that past success in the near future and expand on it with the publication now of the new book.
This fall, I hope to get back into school classrooms of various ages to talk about Oklahoma history and about the Kiowa people during the Territory days. In the past, children and teens alike have loved hearing the exciting tales about the buffalo and the way of life the Plains Indians led during the mid-1800s. Teachers have been quite receptive to having me come talk, since in writing my books, I consulted with a Kiowa Elder and with a well-respected Oklahoma historian, filling in the gaps with an exhaustive amount of meticulous research on my own.
- Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 10:30 AM – Speaking at the Daughters of the American Revolution (Nancy Green Chapter of the DAR) meeting, held in the Sapulpa Historical Museum. Topic will be the background research done in writing my two novels about the Kiowa people in the mid-1800s in Indian Territory and also in Trenton, Ohio
Please contact Laura Drumb if you need further details or confirmation of any of them.
